Outdoor Fun
Repurpose old tires to create indoor or outdoor small world areas, play areas, or places for exploration in your early childhood settings.
Indoor:
Cover tires with fabric or burlap to create small world play areas. We like the idea to use round plastic buckets or bowls for the inside.
Summer time offers us a great opportunity to take much of our learning outside and let children play and explore different materials with all their senses.
Grade, Age Range or Specialized Learner: Multi-age, Preschool/Pre-K, 3-5 year old
Out camping? Here are some creative outdoor activities that will keep the family engaged at the campsite.
Mixed Media Painting: Using your campground surroundings, challenge your kids to think outside the box and employ mixed media to recreate the campsite on paper.
Materials: paper, colored paint, glue
Summer is the perfect time to get outside and go hiking.
A bundle of sticks, a pile of small rocks, some sturdy tape, and a set of number cards are the building blocks for an afternoon of number fun that includes number hunts, ordering numbers, matching numbers, and counting.
Children love being outside, hunting for treasure, and meeting challenges, so why not combine all three for a fun afternoon of finding things that begin with letters from the alphabet?
