The importance of instilling the concept of...

The Three Little Aliens and the Big Bad Robot, our focus book for the month, is a humorous retelling of the classic children's tale, The Three Little Pigs--reimagined in outer space. Right when the three little aliens are just settling into their new homes, the Big Bad Robot shows up to "crack and whack and smack" their houses down. Although some of the scientific information presented in the book is not quite accurate, Margaret Mcnamara, the author, provides many scientific facts about the planets and the solar system, which young readers will have fun learning. This month, your preschoolers and kindergarteners will have an out-of-this world experience as they get to know the aliens and the robot through our pretend and small world play areas and as they listen to felt rhymes and stories, participate in number recognition and counting activities, make alien and robot crafts, play robot-themed reading games, learn sight words as they read alien-and-robot-themed emergent readers, and so much more. As the three little aliens so aptly put it, "Greep! Boink! Meek!"
